Sustainability Policy

Guided by the Tread Lightly! Principles

Our Commitment

At Outlaw Adventure Tours, we are committed to preserving the natural landscapes we explore. As stewards of the outdoors, we uphold the values of conservation, education, and responsible recreation.

Core Principles

‍We integrate the Tread Lightly! principles into all our operations:

1. Travel Responsibly
-We stay on designated roads, trails, and routes.
-We avoid environmentally sensitive areas and respect seasonal closures.
-We maintain all vehicles to minimize emissions, leaks, and noise pollution.

2. Respect the Rights of Others
-We share trails and public lands with others respectfully and courteously.
-We yield to non-motorized users and educate our guests on trail etiquette.
-We obtain necessary permissions when traveling across private land.

3. Educate Yourself and Others
-We provide pre-tour briefings on responsible recreation practices.
-Our guides are trained in Tread Lightly! ethics and wilderness awareness.
-We distribute educational materials to help guests understand local ecosystems.

4. Avoid Sensitive Areas
-We do not operate in wetlands, alpine meadows, or archaeological sites.
-We adhere strictly to Leave No Trace principles during all stops and activities.
-We support habitat restoration efforts and community conservation projects.

5. Do Your Part
-We pack out all waste, use eco-friendly products, and recycle where possible.
-We participate in local clean-up and trail maintenance events.
-We encourage guests to become responsible recreation advocates.

Sustainable Operations

1. Fleet Management: We maintain our vehicles to the highest environmental standards and are exploring lower-emission alternatives.
2. Group Size Limits: We cap group sizes to reduce impact on trails and wildlife.
3. Waste Reduction: We eliminate single-use plastics on tours and promote refillable water bottles.
4. Local Partnerships: We support local businesses and conservation groups to strengthen community-based stewardship.

Continuous Improvement

We regularly review our sustainability practices and seek feedback from guests, staff, and environmental partners to improve our efforts. We stay informed of evolving best practices and adapt accordingly.
